His eyes like water bring life and keep me living

They nurture my soul, feed my spirit, and then

they keep on giving

They see to my very edge but they are not afraid

like water; most courageous - ready to take that plunge

over the cliff, across the canyon,

and flowing through the tightest rocks

where there is no space.

No space between the sinewy seams of a battered heart but eyes like water…

fear not,

and take me to that safest place

Eyes like water see through me, all the way through

Nothing can hide

They sink deep inside

Drink them in like a desert flower takes that drop of dew

Pray to God that I will always see me

in eyes like water.
