2 bacon slices – diced
2 ½ lbs boned chuck roast, cut into 1 inch cubes
½ tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 garlic clove minced
4 medium onions sliced thin
3 Tbsp flour
2 tsps wine vinegar
½ tsp sugar
½ tsp dried thyme

Add sliced onion to pan, cover for about 10 minutes stirring occasionally. Stir in flour and cook until browned. Add all ingredients from vinegar through bay leaf and bring to a boil. Return bacon and beef to the pan. Cover and cook all of this for about 2 hours. Discard the bay-leaf before you serve over noodles.
